Investigations, Imaging & Scans

Investigations, Imaging & Scans;
CXR, CT, MRI, PET scans

Evaluations of a suspicious lung shadow on a chest X ray may require a few tests only, or may require extensive testing before a conclusion can be made on what it is and if it is a type of cancer, its extent and then the treatment required.

It is now recognized that the best way to evaluate patients is in conjunction with a multidisciplinary clinic, where all the treating specialists can give their opinions on individual patient management . It is not always cut and dried as to what will the best treatment because of the various combinations of factors interplaying so the arguments of the group, based on previously well documented evidence as to the best treatment will be taken into account by the treating specialist and recommended to the patient.
